Cross Hearing Aids

Instead of trying to amplify sound in the ear that can't use it, a CROS device picks up sound from your weaker ear and wirelessly sends it across to your better ear, so you don't miss conversations, traffic sounds, or anything happening on your "deaf side."

How CROS Hearing Aids Work

A CROS system has two parts. A small transmitter sits on the ear with poor or no hearing and picks up sound from that side. It then sends that signal wirelessly to a receiver worn on your better-hearing ear. The receiver delivers the sound directly into that ear, so your one working ear now receives input from both sides. If your better ear also needs amplification, a BiCROS version combines a hearing aid and a CROS transmitter so that ear gets both amplified sound and signal from the weaker side.
